Managing bill of materials

This chapter describes how a "Bill of Materials" (BOM) can be defined to organize the data within a catalog.

A BOM is a hierarchical tree structure. The nodes in this tree structure are called assemblies and part types can be assigned to these assemblies. Also, assemblies can be assigned to sub-organizations, which means that these assemblies are just visible in that sub-organizations.
